Romy Croquet Mars is the daughter of Sofia Coppola, the acclaimed director and screenwriter, and Thomas Mars, the lead vocalist of the indie band Phoenix. Born in 2006, Romy is part of a family deeply involved in the artistic and cinematic world. Her maternal grandparents are the renowned filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and documentarian Eleanor Coppola.Romy gained notoriety in 2023 after posting a TikTok video that quickly went viral. In the video, she shared moments of her daily life and casually mentioned trying to rent a helicopter to visit a friend, which led to her being punished by her parents. The video attracted attention for offering a rare glimpse into the life of a famous family and highlighted Romy's spirited and authentic personality.
On May 22, 2024, Romy released her first EP titled 'Stuck Up', containing two songs: 'Stuck Up' and 'From a Distance'. These tracks, which explore the indie pop genre, marked her official debut in the music industry. In addition to her musical achievements, Romy will also be part of the cast of the film 'MEGALOPOLIS', directed by her grandfather, Francis Ford Coppola. This project represents a continuation of the Coppola family's cinematic legacy, with Romy now venturing into film under the direction of her iconic grandfather.
